Employee Referral Program Details

The Employee Referral Program highlights the significance of our most important asset for United Dairymen of Arizona (UDA) – our people! We place immense importance on referrals because we trust our employees know what’s best for our company. We aim to recognize our employees’ efforts, to recruit top talent, by providing incentivizing referral bonuses.

Eligibility

The Employee Referral Program applies to all active UDA employees except for senior management (director-level and above), recruiters, and hiring managers for positions which they are actively hiring.

Note that hiring managers cannot refer anyone to a position for which they are directly or indirectly responsible. They can, however, refer someone for a position that is in a different department, plant, or function. This exception does not apply to executives and senior management.

The Program

UDA will pay an employee a bonus for the successful referral and hiring of a new employee. The standard referral bonus equates to five hundred dollars ($500), per eligible referral.
  • Referral bonuses will be paid in accordance with the following guidelines:
    • The referring employee notifies UDA Careers of their intended referral by name. This should be done via the 'Ask Here' section of Paycom. (Ask Here>On-site Benefits>Referrals)
    • The referring employee is actively employed with UDA at the time of referral bonus eligibility.
    • The referral must be hired and employed with UDA for a minimum of sixty (60) calendar days.
    • The referral must notify UDA Careers of the name of the UDA employee who referred them. This should be done via the 'Ask Here' section of Paycom. (Ask Here>On-site Benefits>Referrals)
    • The referral is not currently working as a contractor, temporary worker, or part-time employee.
    • The referral has not applied to, or interviewed with, UDA within the prior 12 months.
  • Only one UDA employee is eligible to receive a bonus for a referral.
    • No split bonuses will be considered.
  • Bonus eligibility will be determined on a first-to-refer basis.

    Example: You know an amazing candidate for an open position, and you refer them to the role, in accordance with this policy. The candidate is successfully hired. After 60 calendar days of the new hire’s employment, you will receive a bonus payout of $500 on the next pay cycle check.

Bounty Board

  • UDA Careers will promote additional bonus potential for positions considered “hard-to-fill” on the UDA Referral Bounty Board. The Bounty Board bonuses will be paid in lieu of the standard referral bonus. Bounty Board bonus amounts vary by position and are subject to requisition openings and timeframes. UDA Careers will determine which roles are considered Bounty Board eligible and will promote these openings across various communication platforms.
  • Bounty Board bonuses are subject to the same guidelines as the standard referral bonus. Bounty Board bonuses will not be paid out for roles that have not been clearly advertised as a Bounty Board position. Final bonus payout will be determined by UDA Careers.
  • Example: You know an amazing candidate for an open position, and you refer them to the role, in accordance with this policy. The position you have referred the candidate for is listed on UDA’s Referral Bounty Board for $1,500. The candidate is successfully hired. After 60 calendar days of the new hire’s employment, you will receive a bonus payout of $1,500 on the next pay cycle check.

Bonus Payout

  • If a referral is hired and successfully works for a minimum of 60 calendar days, the referring UDA employee will be paid a referral bonus on the next eligible pay date.
  • Bonuses will be paid grossed-up to cover all taxes. Only active UDA employees are eligible to receive a referral payout. Termination of employment from UDA voids any referral bonus eligibility.
  • If a referral is hired, and the position filled was listed on UDA’s Referral Bounty Board, the referring employee will receive an additional bonus payout. The final amount of the payout will be added to the standard referral bonus amount of $500. Additional Bounty Board bonus will be paid post-tax and paid within the same parameters of the standard referral bonus. Bounty Board bonus amounts are subject to change without notice and are only guaranteed during the promotional timeframe. Please contact UDA Careers with any questions pertaining to Bounty Board amounts.

Additional Rules

  • UDA may require the use of an online form or a platform where employees may refer candidates.
  • There is no cap on the number of referrals an employee can make. All bonuses will be paid according to the guidelines highlighted in this policy.
  • If two or more employees refer the same candidate, only the first referrer will be eligible to receive a referral bonus.
  • Referring employees are still eligible for a referral bonus if a candidate is hired within a 12-month period or gets hired for another position. Consideration for referral payout will only be made if referrals are made in accordance with the guidelines highlighted in this policy.
  • UDA encourages you to check our open positions and consider your social networks and external networks as potential resources for referred candidates.
  • UDA reserves the right to modify the Employee Referral Bonus Program with or without notice. If a modification does occur, UDA will work to provide the appropriate bonus to employees who referred candidates before the change occurred.
